Dear Editor,
I write to ask that you be kind enough to publish this enquiry. I have perused the list and functions of the Ministries of the present government and could not find the one responsible for economic planning and development.
Someone suggested to me that it is under the Ministry of Business. In light of the scope of such planning, it seems to be beyond the remit of any Ministry of Business.
Planning for economic development is far wider in scope and perspective than planning for business, and must seek to situate the country in the 21st century and beyond.
It must plan every facet of the country’s life going forward beginning with infrastructure development to take us into the future. Having said all I did, will someone in the government be so kind as to advise me on the portfolio under which this crucial function falls? Lancelot McCaskey
