A poem for the Guyanese people

Dear Editor,
I cannot do anything about the ISIS.
I cannot do anything about the fighting in Syria.
I cannot do anything about the fighting in the Ukraine even!
I cannot do anything about the fighting in South Sudan also.
But I can give a homeless person a meal.
I can give warm clothing to the local homeless: and shelter too.
I can yield the right of way, even when I don’t have to.
I can say “hello” with a smile to my neighbor when I meet him/her on the street.
I can fix myself breakfast also!
If there should be peace on earth,
Then let it begin with me, and you too, and you and you!
Grace and peace. ……for 2016!
