A Linden man who was recently freed of a drug charge due to some technicalities has been nabbed again. He was held at a police road block at Fort Wellington, West Coast Berbice.
The man, the driver and a prison officer were in a Sheriff taxi when the car was intercepted.
According to reports, about 1500hrs on Sunday the police were conducting a roadblock at Fort Wellington, West Coast Berbice when they stopped the taxi which has three persons inside.
A search of the trunk unearthed 5.4 kilograms of marijuana in a bag.
The three men who were in the vehicle were arrested and taken into custody. Upon further probe one of the men turned out to be Roger English, 50, a known drug dealer of Amelia’s Ward Linden. Investigation also revealed that the man and his girl friend were recently nabbed at a police road block at Weldaad not too long ago.
English was freed of that charge due to some technicalities.
He is in custody assisting with investigation and charges are likely soon.
