prizes for the 2nd annual Stag Beer/Derrick Josiah Memorial Knockout competition, the final set for Sunday at the Den Amstel Ground, West Coast Demerara.
Public Relations Officer Ms. Darshanie Yussuf who handed over the cheque to WDFA Vice President Ms. Christine Smith in the presence of Stag Beer Representative, Lindon Henry said that the company was happy to be associated with the competition that honours the memory of a former football administrator.
“Ansa McAl is pleased to hand over this cheque to you for this competition that is in honour of someone who made his mark in the football arena as a civilian and a member of the Guyana Police Force. It’s is our role as a corporate citizen to support the development of the game and our young people which we will continue to do.”
Ms. Smith offered the WDFA’s gratitude to Ms. Yussuf and Ansa McAl for stepping in to assist in the time of need.
Sunday’s final will see Pouderoyen and Den Amstel clashing for the top prize of $200,000 with half that amount going to the loser. The 3rd place match brings together Uitvlugt Warriors and Eagles wher $50,000 and $25,000 will be at stake. Kick off time is 13:30hrs.
