V Net Communications has extended sponsorship to West Indies U19 vice captain Keemo Paul. At a simple ceremony held at the entity’s office 25 Delph Street, Campbellville prior to Paul’s departure for the ICC U19

World Cup in Bangladesh, Chief Executive Officer of the company Safraz Sheriffudeen presented a quantity of gears and an undisclosed sum of cash to the Guyanese all-rounder. Paul’s package also includes communications coverage when on tour.
Sheriffudeen congratulated Paul on his selection and wished him well in his future endeavours. The company also sponsors cricket and dominoes in Wakenaam and Sheriffudeen added that his cricket competition is geared towards enhancing talent on the island. “Players need exposure to develop and that’s the main reason we are supporting the sport there”, he said, adding that Paul would have played in the said tournament. “His feat will definitely serve as a motivation factor to many youths there and I have seen quite a number of them taking the sport seriously so Paul is already a role model for some,” he posited.
The CEO, who hails from Wakenaam, said that he was impressed with the talent on show during his last competition there and that his company will continue to support the game as well as young players on the island, and that they are happy to be associated with sports.
Paul thanked Sheriffudeen for his backing and pledged to so his best for the region. He hopes his feat will motivate young cricketers, adding that it is a pleasure to represent the West Indies more so to be named vice captain. The all-rounder explained that parents should encourage their children to take sports seriously and credited his father for his success so far. Paul feels that discipline is important in order to achieve success.
V Net Communications provides satellite internet services to remote areas in Guyana.
Meanwhile, PRO of the Wakenaam Cricket Committee Vickram Ramnarine congratulated Paul and stated that his achievement is as a result of the hard work he has put in over the years.
