Seven days after 45-year-old, Harrychand Mahadeo, died from injuries, he sustained at the hands of his wife during an argument at the couple’s Trulie Island home, last Thursday, the police charged Gaitree Mahadeo, 46, with inflicting grevious bodily harm.
Mrs. Mahadeo was placed on $100,000 bail.
Reports stated that the deceased who was a labourer came home last week Wednesday, intoxicated and started to verbally abuse his wife.
The man reportedly picked up a cutlass and chopped his wife in the palm of her hand, which caused her to have several stitches.

Mahadeo died early Tuesday morning at the Georgetown Public Hospital. Police are seeking advice in relation to proceeding with additional charges against the dead man’s wife.
The couple shared four children, both of them worked as labourers on Trulie Island.
