Dear Editor,
Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) are badly needed in Guyana, enough of the old fashion way of voting with pencils and ink.
This new system, if implemented NOW would remove numerous complaints and suspicions in the vote counting process as is the norm every elections held in Guyana.
These machines can be installed in less than two (2) months. We have four (4) months before the holding of Local Government Elections.
Hopefully, those in control of the political system would see the wisdom in having these machines do the counting, instead of waiting days for the results. It’s time for change. Mark A. Benschop
