Ladies’ nights, sponsors’ giveaways & 12 & under free to be introduced
The inaugural Stag Elite League (SEL) has made an enterprising start with all the matches played to date attracting encouraging crowds, some fans intimating that the crowds are more likened to knock-out football.
Among the persons from the administrative scheme of things who are impressed with the support of the fans to date is Chairman of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Normalisation Committee, Clinton Urling.
Speaking with Kaieteur Sport, Urling, who has led a positive transformation of football in Guyana along with his fellow NC members stated that he is encouraged by the support of fans at all the venues so far including the Leonora Track & Field Football Field, GFC, #5 (West Berbice), Tucville and GDF grounds.
“Crowd support has been good so far, the fans and supporters have come out in their numbers at all the venues we have played at to date. We have a few game promotions that are aimed at increasing the fan experience.”
Urling, whose tenure along with that of the NC will come to an end next month before handing over to a new GFF Executive which would be elected at the scheduled November 14 scheduled Congress noted that they will constantly monitor the crowd turnout and adjust their promotions and gate charges accordingly.
He informed that among the initiatives that will be introduced will be children under the age of 12 being admitted free of charge while there would also be ladies’ nights and sponsors’ giveaways.
Among the persons attending matches have been Government officials including Minister of State Mr. Joseph Harmon and Ms. Valarie Garrido-Lowe, Minister within the Ministry of Indigenous People’s Affairs.
