Mark Jacobs as he stood in the vicinity of Parliament Building yesterday
Mark Jacobs, brother of slain Political Activist, Courtney Crum Ewing, is calling on the Guyana Police Force (GPF) to hasten its probe in finding the other persons responsible for the demise of his sibling, who was assassinated while encouraging persons to vote for the then opposition APNU+AFC coalition at the May 11 General and Regional Elections.
As parliament was in session yesterday Jacobs used the opportunity to call for justice for his brother.
Jacobs was vocal when he lamented on the fact that several persons had witnessed the events leading to the last moments of his brother being alive. He said that the witnesses had seen when Crum-Ewing was accosted by four men in a car, one of whom discharged several rounds, hitting him about the body.
Jacobs is hoping that the investigation into his brother’s killing does not end at the person who has been incarcerated.
The family is in praise of the police for making such a breakthrough by apprehending one suspect. However, according to Jacobs, satisfaction will not be felt until the other perpetrators are brought to face the full force of justice.
“We all know the man arrested is a known character…he had no motive to kill Courtney,” Jacobs reflected.
Courtney Crum- Ewing, 40, received two gunshots to the temple, one to the back of the head, and two to the stomach on March 10, 2015. Reports stated that the killer used a .32 pistol and fired at such close range that gunpowder burns were left on Crum-Ewing’s clothes and body.
