Zorg Commemoration Committee has continued to attract sponsors for its Clive Gobin Memorial cricket competition which is set to commence on August 9 on the Essequibo Coast.
Nandkishore Singh of Lumber Yard and Processing Establishment of Airy Hall and Thakur Persaud Hardware Store of Golden Fleece have thrown their weight behind the tournament.
Singh recently presented a cheque of an undisclosed sum to the organization which will aid in the construction of a permanent shed at the Zorg ground that will be used to accommodate cricketers, while Persaud has donated other materials for the said purpose.
Chairman of the Committee, Raoul Ruplal expressed gratitude to both individuals. The competition is being sponsored by Dereck Gobin Agri Spares and will culminate on August 9 with a village day hosted by the organization. The tournament will be contested by U15 teams from North, South and Central Essequibo as well as an open female team.
