The Guyana Delegation to the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles California, which consists of four athletes and two officials, has won a total of six medals, 1 gold, 3silvers and 2bronze. In addition, athletes were decorated with participation ribbons.
The athletes competed in athletics which are held at the Locker Stadium/Cromwell Field, University of South California.
Aneisa Bowman won silver in her 400M Division2 event, while Deandra David won bronze in her 400M division 4 event and Kevin Pryce placed 4th in the 400M and won a silver medal in the 200M division 8 event. Calvin Thomas gave Guyana a silver medal by placing 2nd in the 3000M, Division 5 event. Thomas clinched gold in the 5000M Division 6 Event. Calvin Thomas was interviewed by ESPN.
The Closing Ceremony was held yesterday at the Los Angeles Coliseum. The Guyana Delegation will arrives home at approximately 11:57pm on August 4, 2015.
