Guyana to open Regional U15 campaign against T&T

Guyana will begin the defence of the Regional U15 50-over title against Trinidad and Tobago at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground, Bourda on July 23.
The team is currently encamped at the Chetram Singh Centre of Excellence, La Bonne Intention, East Coast Demerara under Coach Julian Moore.
Speaking with Kaieteur Sport yesterday, Moore said that he is pleased with the progress of the players. “The players have shown the commitment that is necessary for success, their fitness has improved tremendously since we commenced out training,” he added.
He pointed out that their preparation has been somewhat affected by the inclement weather, but that will not deter his charges. “We have had sessions at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall and also did fitness training at the National Park, so the players are eager and confident,” he said.
Moore informed that he also did some work on the technical and mental aspects of the players.
A lot is expected from DCC trio Ashmead Nedd, Alphius Bookie and Sachin Singh, Essequibo’s Kevin Christian and Orlando Jailall as well as Berbician Junior Sinclair.
Guyana second round encounter will be against the Leeward Islands at the National Stadium on July 24. They will then take on Barbados on July 27 at Everest, Jamaica on July 28 at Enmore and Windward Islands on July 30 at the National Stadium.
