A sole bid was yesterday opened at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB), Ministry of Finance, for the provision of auditing services for the Global Fund to fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
The fund to Guyana, which was launched back in 2014, is part of a new model seeking to assist countries in planning how to control these epidemics. So far Guyana is one of a number of countries to benefit, including nations from the African continent, Caribbean, Latin America and India.
Global Fund, which is an international financing organisation, invests nearly US$4B a year to support programmes run by local experts in countries around the world and is the world’s largest financier of anti- AIDS, TB and malaria programmes.
