Hosts Enmore Community Centre Cricket Club defeated Lusignan CC by six runs to win the final of the Nauth Motor Spares 50-over tournament played recently.

Witnessed by a sizeable and vocal crowd, Enmore CC opening pair of Vishwanauth Ramlakan and Bheemraj Ramkhelawan added 50 in 10 overs to give their team a decent start. The dismissal of Ramkelawan for 17 and Ramlakan for 24 triggered a collapse as Enmore lost six wickets for 19 runs on a pitch which rendered assistance to the spinners. Adrian Persaud hit 26 down the order as Enmore were bowled out for 133 in 39 overs. F. Kadir took 5- 32 from 10 overs and Narvan Singh had 3-27 from seven overs.
Left arm pacer Gavin Moriah, bowling at reduced pace due to a foot injury, dismissed Brian Sattaur and Vishnu Ramjeet in his first two overs, whilst off spinner Christopher Surat accounted for S. Alli, leaving Lusignan CC at 49 for 3 in reply.
Leg spinner Amir Khan then picked up two quick wickets before Moriah sent back the inform Somdat Bharat for 45 as the visitors found themselves in trouble at 85-7. Lusignan lower
order threatened before they were sent packing for 127. Moriah claimed 3-54 from 10 overs, while Khan, Chandraban Seemangal and Christopher Surat had two each.
Enmore CC received a trophy and $200,000, Lusignan took home a trophy and $100,000 and Moriah was given the man of the match award.
Bharrat pocketed the best batsman of the final and most valuable player (333 runs) accolades, while F. Kadir was given the best bowler prize.
President of the Guyana Cricket Board Drubahadur commended Surendra Nauth for sponsoring the tournament amid legal threats from persons within the East Coast cricket fraternity.
He lauded the East Coast Cricket Committee for a well organized tournament in which twelve teams competed and congratulated the winning team. Nauth promised to increase his sponsorship for the next tournament in which eighteen teams are expected to take part.
