The Demerara Volleyball Association (DVA) recently held elections to fill vacant
positions on the board namely; the positions of President, Assistant Secretary-Treasurer, Treasurer and Public Relations Officer.
Major Andy Pompey was elected unanimously as the President of the body to govern volleyball in the county, while Kevin Vieira was voted in as Assistant Secretary/Treasurer, Jana Edghill as Treasurer and Allana Bose as the Public Relations Officer.
President of the Guyana Volleyball Federation, John Flores, witnessed the process and congratulated the newly elected members and urged them to take small bites and to focus on volleyball at the grassroot level.
The meeting also saw the handing over of volleyball nets and balls to the newly elected DVA President.
