Even has minor adjustments are still being made to the final programme for the annual Guyana “Cup Cup Fever” horserace meet set for Sunday 5th April the Port Mourant Turf Club, organized by the Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and racing stables, the activity is already beginning to gather a lot of interest.
The Eight races, which have over $10M in cash, trophies and other incentives up for grabs, are already sending tongues wagging with a number of feature clashes on the programme.
One such race will see the eagerly awaited return clash between Spit, Fire, Just call me Boss and Unsettled.
According to organizer Nasrudeen Mohammed Junior preparations are going smoothly and entries and sponsors all already on board. The list of events will see the horses galloping in the feature D1 and Lower event over 1600M for a tantalizing $1.5 and a combing purse of $2,820,000. The G3 and lower event which will also feature West Indies and Guyana bred colts, fillies, three 3yrs old and up will compete over 1200M for a combined purse of $750,000 and trophy.
The F1 and lower 1200M event will also feature animals classified three year old West Indies and Guyana bred, colts, fillies, mares and up for a total prize of $ 940,000 and trophy.
There is an event for West Indies and Guyana bred three year old animals including colts and fillies also for a total prize of $940,000 and trophy over 1500M.
The Guyana Bred three year old colts, mares and fillies will have their chance at competing for a total prize package of $560,000 and trophy over 1200M. The event for I1 & lower horses over 1200M is also for Guyana bred 2yrs old and up, colts, fillies and mares racing for a winning package of $470,000 and trophy.
The final race will be for animals classified J2 and lower and Guyana bred colts, fillies and mares for a total purse of $375,000 over 1200M.
The events will be held under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority.

They organisers have also arraigning a number of added attractions, giveaways and incentives including free kites for kids upon entry.
