The combined APNU/AFC collation has a golden opportunity to be victorious at the upcoming May 11th elections if they focus on these burning issues that most of the Guyanese population want to see addressed.
Firstly, Vat must be reduced to 8 percent or lower and the purchase tax on imported vehicles must be removed because the duty on vehicles is already very high.
This will allow the average and middle class worker to purchase a new vehicle which currently is enjoyed only by those “Fat Cats” and “Cronies” who get duty free concessions.
It will also mean that low income workers might now be able to fulfill their dreams of purchasing a reconditioned vehicle.
The Berbice Bridge toll must be reduced immediately and a promise to investigate where the money came from to build those big structures now overtaking Georgetown, many of them unoccupied with a “For Sale” and “Rental Sign” boldly displayed.
The Nandlall Scandal and The Government Ministers illegal spending must be highlighted and
Guyana Police Force must be purged of those senior Officers who support torture and show no respect for the law abiding citizens.
The man in charge of NICIL should have a very wide door at Brickdam waiting to accommodate him after that entity is properly audited.
