The lone suspect arrested on Wednesday after he and two others reportedly burgled a city supermarket and carted off millions of dollars, was taken before the courts yesterday.

Burglary accused: Milton Freeman
The court heard that between January 27 and January 28, last, at Sheriff Street, Georgetown, he broke and entered the business place of Parshuram Arjune and stole 37 rounds of live .32 ammunition valued $32,000 and $6M cash.
Police Prosecutor, Inspector Michael Grant explained that the businessman closed his supermarket leaving everything intact and headed home around 23:30 hours on Tuesday (January 27).
Grant explained that around 05:00 hours the next morning, the security guard on duty heard an odd sound coming from the top of the three-storey building.
It was when the guard went to investigate that he saw three persons snooping around in the building. According to Grant, the guard subsequently alerted his security company that there was a break-in.
The company responded quickly and more security personnel arrived on the scene. Grant said after the team confronted the bandits, several shots were fired and during the commotion, two gunmen escaped while Barker was captured.
Grant told the court that when Barker was searched, $2M was found on his person. He was taken into custody and further investigations led to him being charged with break and enter and larceny.
The prosecutor cited several reasons in making a request for Barker to be ordered held. Barker was unrepresented by legal counsel.
He was remanded and is slated to appear before the Chief Magistrate on Monday (February 2).
