Jumbo Jet again fly’s away with championship honours

Treacle of the Dookie Stable trained by Fazal Habibulla choose the correct moment to return to top form when it defeat a top class field to win the feature D1 and lower event when the Rising Sun Turf Club in collaboration with Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Banks DIH successfully held their grand New Year’s Day Horserace meet at the Rising Sun Turf Club, Arima Park West Coast Berbice.
As the animals left the starting gate the sprinters took the race to full throttle early with Curfew Tower and Princess She Not out front and having the others at their mercy in the 1600M event. Treacle, ridden by jockey Randolph Richmond, was hovering at third. Into the backstretch the animals were stretching out at a searing pace with some exchanges in positions taking place. By the far turn CP Got Even was moving into position from the back row as Treacle was pushing to challenge the leaders.
As the horses hit the homestretch it was Treacle responding to the urging of Jockey Richmond taking the lead, indicating to the others, catch me if you can. By then CP Got Even was coming at top speed, but it was little too late as Treacle crossed the

For the win it raced away with the $1M and Banks DIH Trophy ahead of CP Got Even, with Curfew Tower copping the third spot ahead of Grande De Roja.
Unsettled, piloted by Richmond, of the Inshan Bacchus stable settled all score as it romp home to win the E and lower and West Indies bred Three Year Old event in a close tussle from Swing Easy for the $500,000 top money over 1400M. Rosetta and Spit Fire rounded out the takings.
Settling Star of the Shariff Stable with Jamaican Kevin Blake on the hunch took some time before it settled in front of the pack to win the two Year Old West Indies event. For winning, Settling Star took home the $340,000 and trophy ahead of Loch Song, It’s My Choice and She Running Hard.
Top Sprinter Appealing Harvest of the Jumbo Jet stable with Colin Ross did its best to keep out Stable mate Release the Beast for the $300,000 money and trophy as the 1100M G class event with Cassie and Damascus Dream third and fourth respectively.

The G3 Maiden and H and Lower 1100M event saw She So Special of the Jumbo Jet stable with Ross again on the perch putting in a special effort to outdo Send From Above, Super Bowl and Mary Ann to take the $240,000 and trophy.
Red Jet of the Shamsundar stable with Norville the rider won the J1 and lower race over 1100M from The Gump, Royal Cash and Smarty Light.
Speed Vision ridden by Kevin Paul of the Khan stable showed tremendous speed down the home stretch in the 1100M race to beat out Smarty Light for the win ahead of Royal Intention and Red Region.
The champion stable was again Jumbo Jet with Randolph Richmond being the champion jockey on show and Carlton ‘Black Mouth’ Pluck the top trainer.
