Medical professionals attached to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) maternity ward, had the opportunity on New Year’s Day to welcome 15 boys and girls into the world.
There were no fatal complications and all of the new mothers were elated. This newspaper understands that 61 babies were delivered over 72 hour period between January, 30th and New Year’s Day.
Yesterday Kaieteur News got hold of seven mothers and their little ones who were fortunate enough to be born on the first day of the year. Some mothers, who hadn’t done ultrasounds to determine the gender of the infants didn’t have baby names as yet, but most were set and ready to welcome motherhood.
