Police are probing the murder of gold miner Mikel Huntley, who was reportedly doused with petrol and set alight at Ikawan, Cuyuni River, on Boxing Day.
Police stated that Huntley, of New Amsterdam, Berbice, was involved in an argument with another man, during which he was soaked with gasoline and set alight.
He succumbed to the injuries.
Investigators have dispatched a team to the area.
