Two dead after truck overturns on Mabura Road

An accident yesterday morning at Eight Miles Mabura Road has left two young men dead and three others injured.
According to reports, the accident occurred after the truck GRR 9317, owned by one Sohan Bipta of Nandy Park, suffered a blow out.
The two dead men, who are yet to be identified, were reportedly sitting on the logs that the truck was carrying.
After the blowout, the men were thrown off when the truck tilted. The men were pinned by some logs.
They were transported to the Linden Hospital Complex, where they were pronounced dead on arrival.
The driver of the truck, 25-year-old Andy Ramsawack, of Block 10 Diamond and two others, Jermaine La Cruz and the owner Sohan Bipta, were also rushed to the Linden Hospital.
They were treated and subsequently transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Several relatives of the injured men travelled to Linden upon learning of the accident.
They were however tightlipped and only ventured to say that the dead men were picked up along the route, after begging for a “lift”.
“Dem boys didn’t want carry them, but they begged, saying that they had no money, and needed to go home.
“But dem boys didn’t even know them; they just sorry for dem after they said that they had no money,” one relative of the injured said.
