DEAR EDITOR,
Kindly permit me to respond to Mr. Mike Persaud’s letter to your newspaper dated 10th December, 2014.
I am the niece of Mr. Mike Persaud whose real name is Mahadeo Persaud. My father Narine Persaud, (now deceased) and Mr. Mahadeo Persaud are brothers.
Mr. Mahadeo Persaud’s letter is riddled with falsehoods.
During his lifetime, my grandfather Rampersaud Persaud executed a power of attorney in my father’s favour and gave instructions for my father to transfer certain properties into my father’s name.
My grandfather was in Guyana at the time when he executed the Power of Attorney. His passport record shows this.
My grandfather had indicated for a very long time before the actual transfer of the properties that he wanted my father Narine Persaud, his eldest son, to have properties. This caused Mr. Mahadeo Persaud to be very upset, and during one of his many fights with my grandfather about my grandfather’s wishes, he threw a book at my grandfather’s face causing a wound.
Mr. Mahadeo Persaud was then arrested and charged by the New York Police for assaulting his father, my grandfather. This information can be found at the New York City Criminal/justice website.
I am the executrix of my father Narine Persaud’s estate and I am in the process of applying for the probate so that I can continue to defend the legal proceedings brought against my father by a brother of Mahadeo Persaud.
It is the court that will in the end pronounce on the authenticity of the power of attorney that was executed and not Mr. Mahadeo Persaud’s letter writing skills in the newspaper. Further I say not. Margarie Persaud
