A Linden porter was apologetic but that did not spare him a jail term. He appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennon at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, yesterday.
It is alleged that on November 16, at Waterton Road, Mackenzie Linden, Arlon France threatened Paulette Powell.
Police Prosecutor Dinero Jones told the court that on the day in question Powell was going through her exercise routine around 5:00hrs when France approached her.
He reportedly had a broken bottle in his hand and ordered Powell to lie on the floor. While she was on the floor they had a scuffle, causing the bottle to fall from France’s hands.
The woman ran away but the defendant continued to run behind her. She made her way to the Mackenzie Police Station and made a report. The defendant was identified during a police patrol, he was arrested and investigated further and then charged.
France pleaded guilty and was sent to jail.
