Six weeks after a speeding pickup suffered a blowout and overturned on the Linden-Lethem roadway, killing two of the five occupants, another person injured in the accident succumbed yesterday at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
Dead: Sandra Sukhdeo
Sandra Sukhdeo, 53, of Peters Hall, East Bank Demerara, had sustained injuries which had left her paralysed.
The occupants of the Ford pickup were in the vicinity of Rockstone, on September 14, when one of the wheels suffered a “blow out.” Raymond Khan, 64, of Canada, and Jean Williams, 63, of Trinidad were killed, while Sandra Sukhdeo, and her husband, Leroy Williams, were injured.
The driver of the Ford pickup, Michael Gordon, was charged days after for the road deaths of the two overseas-based Guyanese. He was released on GUY$1M bail.
The prosecution’s case was that Jordan drove pickup, GMM 7330, in a manner dangerous to the public that caused deaths.
