The accident occurred around 23:30 hours last Thursday night, October 23, on the Nismes Public Road, WBD. According to reports, Adolphus was allegedly speeding along the Nismes Public Road when he lost control of his motorcycle and ended up in a trench beside the highway.
Speaking to this newspaper, a distraught Rosalind Gill, the young boy’s mother, related that the news of her son came as a devastating shock, especially since he did not own a motorcycle.
“I don’t know how he got that bike,” said Gill, “it was probably one of he friend own, but I don’t know whose bike it was, cause my son don’t own one.”
The mother said that her son stepped out of her home around 19:00 hours with friends, to attend a party in Stanleytown, WBD. She emphasized that her son left “on foot” and from her knowledge, no one arrived or left with a motorcycle.
At around the 00:30 hours, Gill received the news of her son’s accident from a neighborhood friend. Gill said that the person could not bring himself to tell her of her son’s death. She said that all he told her was, “I don’t know what to tell you, you just have to come see for yourself.”
After that Gill rushed to the scene of the accident.
A resident of the area, who asked that her name not be used, recounted that she did not hear any crash or loud noise when the accident occurred, but instead noticed a crowd surrounding the wreckage. According to her, it took police officials over an hour to locate Adolphus, who was some distance away from the bike. She said that the body was found with a broken neck and that the bike was irreparably damaged.
Meanwhile, another witness said that as officials searched for Adolphus, a relative of the victim lamented “Why you let he ride? Yall know he can’t change gear!”
