Police find gun in Mahaica house
Two brothers have been arrested and are assisting police in their investigation into the discovery of a .45 Ruger pistol and 56 matching rounds during a raid on a Lancaster, Mahaica, ECD mechanic shop yesterday.
The raid was carried out about 12:30 hours by a team led by Superintendent Dass, after the police relieved a tip off.
According to reports, the ranks went to the location where the two men, brothers Rohan and Youram Nandram, operate a mechanic shop.
The men were told about the purpose of the search and they cooperated with ranks, who eventually stumbled upon the weapon and ammunition.
Kaieteur News understands that one of the men arrested, is said to be a member of the Village Community Policing Group.
