Robbers shoot man in stomach, rob girlfriend

A 32-year-old man was shot in the left side at around 21.00 hrs on Friday while fighting off two robbers

who were attempting to rob him and his girlfriend in De Abreu Street, Kitty.
Sources identified the victim as Hamid Mohamed, of De Abreu Street, Kitty and said that he is in critical but stable condition.
According to reports, Mohamed was walking with his girlfriend when two men on bicycles, and armed with a handgun, attacked them. After relieving the woman of $15,000, the bandits attempted to take Mohamed’s valuables. He decided to put up a fight and one of the men shot him.
He has been admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
