Two overseas-based Guyanese were killed and at least two others injured, after a speeding pickup they were travelling in suffered a blowout and overturned on the Linden-Lethem roadway at around 08.15hrs yesterday.

Raymond Khan, 64, of Canada, and Jean Williams, 63, of Trinidad, succumbed on their way to the Georgetown Public Hospital. Kaieteur News understands that they both arrived in Guyana on separate flights on Sunday, and the accident occurred at the Rockstone junction.
Sources identified the injured as Leroy Williams; his wife, Sandra Sookdeo; and the driver, identified as Michael Jordan, 43.
Sookdeo and Jordan are said to be hospitalized at Linden, while Williams was treated and discharged.
Kaieteur News understands that the occupants of the Ford F-1 pickup were in the vicinity of Rockstone, when one of the wheels suffered a “blow out.”
Eyewitnesses, who disclosed that the driver was going at a fast rate, said that the vehicle toppled several times before coming to a stop.
Persons who were in the area pulled the victims out of the wrecked pickup, but Khan and Williams reportedly succumbed shortly after.
