‘…We are all members of one family, it’s time we start living that way’
The good book says we are all our brothers’ keepers and has a responsibility to look out for each others’ well being. Unfortunately, in this fast faced world in which we live, it’s easy to pursue our own self interests.
But what is the real purpose of us being placed on this earth? The answer is to serve the creator and each other. When we die, how do you want to be remembered? Is it by how much money you had, or the clothing you wore? Or is it by how much you would have impacted and improved the lives of others?
One philosopher noted that living primarily for one’s self is an extremely shallow and superficial existence and a complete waste of space on this universe.
But in order to be of real benefit to each other, we need to start being open and honest…living in the light.
If we live in the light…we can share true love with each other… The world promotes the idea that darkness is needed for intimacy, but the Creator tells us the opposite: When we live in the light we become closer to each other and to the Creator.
We can keep hidden sin a secret in the dark but the light brings truth. We’re afraid of transparency, yet it’s the only way to become spiritually and emotionally whole. None of us is as strong individually as all of us are collectively. We’re more consistent in our faith when others walk with us and encourage us. Over and over we’re told to be devoted to each other, submit to each other, forgive one another, bear one another’s burdens, honour one another, accept one another, teach one another, serve one another, encourage one another, pray for one another and love one another. You’re not responsible for everyone in your life, but you are responsible to them. The Creator expects you to do whatever you can to serve them. That’s what it’s all about!
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father, today I surrender my thoughts, words and actions to you. Show me what to speak over my life and over my friends and family. Let me be of help to someone today. Thank You for using me.
