A Courtland, Fyrish man was found dead yesterday morning in the yard of the house in which he lived Lot 514 Hampshire Street.
The lifeless body of Herbie Hercules, 75, was discovered by Oreeta Reece, his great-niece, a little after midday. He lived in the upper flat of the two-storey building with his daughter-in-law, Kerri-Anne Simon and son, Andy Hercules. The son is

Reece, who lives next door, stated that upon arriving home from church, “a neighbour called me saying that Herbie is in the hot sun and when I came over, I see he lie down there. Fifteen minutes later, he died.”
“When I saw him, was sheer slime coming out he mouth. He didn’t talking much—and he had (an injury) to his head. He say his daughter-in-law burst he head. I don’t know what kind of transaction the two of them had here and my aunty, Beverly Cort, left and go to the station, and came back with a police.”
Reece believes that foul play was amiss. “Last night, when [the aunt] carry he, I heard him telling her that the girl who helped take care of he burst he head, took him to the hospital and left him.”
Reece added that no one has been able to make contact with Simon, who has since disappeared, along with the housekeeper. “I hear that the two of them packed their bags and me ain’t know where they gone—nowhere to be found!” She could not comment as to if Hercules had any problems with his daughter-in-law.
Reece last spoke with Hercules early Sunday morning before she left for church.
The body is currently at Ramoo’s Funeral Home awaiting a post- mortem examination. Police are investigating. Neighbours saw and heard nothing.
