Doctors are trying to save the life of a 23-year-old Queenstown carpenter, Kurt Walcott, who sustained a stab wound to the chest. His assailant was fellow villager and relative, 25-year-old, Andrea Peter, a Jet man.
Police said Walcott’s condition is serious.
Doctors performed emergency surgery on Walcott, yesterday morning.
Reports stated that Walcott and Peter were gambling under a mango tree some time around14.15hrs Monday afternoon, at Sand Reef, Queenstown Village, on the Essequibo Coast when a heated argument ensued over money.
Peter, who is Walcott’s brother-in-law, allegedly had a knife on his person and reportedly inflicted a stab wound to Walcott’s chest before fleeing.
Walcott was transported to the Suddie Public Hospital while the police are seeking Peter.
