A former Air Services Limited employee and his accomplice were arrested yesterday after they were found in possession of a .45 pistol at the Ogle Airport.
The employee was recently fired from the company and had returned there yesterday with his friend to uplift his severance package.
Police believe that the employee, who was apparently angered by his dismissal, went to the location armed with the gun to demand the money, should there be any problem collecting it. But when he was politely called into the office to receive the cash, he softened up and handed the gun to his friend who waited outside.
The move was spotted by a security guard who promptly contacted ranks from the Police Anti-Narcotics Branch stationed at the airport.
They moved in and arrested the two men.
