UG lecturer, Bank manager involved in accident
A University of Guyana Lecturer and a Bank Manager were involved
Vibert Jones’ mangled car 4×4
in an accident yesterday along the D’Edward Village Public Road, West Bank Berbice. The incident occurred at around 07:50hrs.
According to reports, Branch Manager of Scotiabank New Amsterdam, Vibert Jones’ Nissan X-Trail 4×4 collided with the car of Berbice Campus lecturer Ms. Eulanie Ouseley-Torrezao.
Ouseley-Torrezao was reportedly heading to a meeting at the Turkeyen Campus, while Jones was heading east, towards the Berbice River Bridge.
The lecturer told Kaieteur News that she was about to stop when she was hit by the other driver, who apparently lost control of his vehicle after negotiating a turn.
Ouseley-Torrezao was treated at the New Amsterdam Hospital for soft tissue damage from the airbag impact and whiplash from the seatbelt. Efforts to contact Jones for a comment proved futile.
Jones’ car was damaged as well but he reportedly received minor injuries. Police are investigating.
