Dear Editor,
I am bringing a matter of grave concern to the attention of the Minister of Health, the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Ministry and the GPSU.
A few months ago, the GPHC advertised for the post of security supervisor. Two of the criteria were that the applicants possess three CSEC passes as well as paramilitary experience.
To our surprise, the management of the GPHC saw it fit to appoint a former security supervisor who has none of the qualifications. In addition, this individual was dismissed and also appeared in court some time ago for assaulting a junior security staffer.
Editor, other GPHC employees have been dismissed for minor offences. Will they now also be re-employed?
We are urging the Health Minister and other senior officials to investigate this matter, and question those who thought it best to re-employ this individual to a post for which he is clearly not qualified. Concerned
