Scarborough, Tobago, – The Windward Islands completed a comprehensive win in their opening match of the West Indies Cricket Board Tobago House of Assembly Regional Under-17 Tournament which bowled off in Tobago yesterday. After winning the toss at Bon Accord, Windwards dismissed Guyana for a paltry 105 from 28.3 overs in the 50 over contest. Windwards then romped to 106 for 1 from 15.1 overs with Man-of-the-Match Kyle Cabey ending unbeaten on one run shy of a half century while, wicketkeeper/opener Gidron Pope made 32.
For Guyana Shimron Hetmyer top-scored with 40, while Brandon Prasad (10) was the only other batsman to reach double figures. Daryl Cyrus bagged 4 for 15 and Brian Joseph supported with 3 for 27 for the Windwards.
Guyana next face Barbados tomorrow seeking a much better performance.
