Dear Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper I would like to bring to the notice of the relevant authorities of the favoured treatment of individuals by the Uitvlugt/Tuschen Neighborhood Democratic Council (NDC) of Meten Meer Zorg, West Coast Demerara about a situation that’s needs to be addressed.
As a concerned citizen, I visited the local Muslim cemetery recently where upon noticing the pervasive dumping of garbage, a few individual from M.M.Z and Zeeburg mosque decided to place two wooden posts at the entrance of the cemetery to assist with an eventual gate to close off the area from residents who dump garbage within these confines.
However, the overseer from the NDC inquired and asked to see if a permit was granted to do such. He wanted to put a halt to the project.
Recently a next resident was building a concrete drain. It was three inches less than the specification. He was ordered by the NDC to break off one wall.
Another resident, also from Zeeburg, tried to put on an extra three sheets of zinc on their roadside shop, but was ordered by NDC to take it off.
However, painting the issues with a different brush, a businessman at Lot 143 Zeeburg Public Road recently disregarded the bylaws and constructed his building and caused it to overlap his eastern and western fence.
There is no as stipulated by building codes which suggest approximately six to eight feet between the house and the fence.
If some urgent steps are not taken to stop this disregard, many will follow suit and disregard the NDC on a whole. Concerned resident
