The body of an unidentified male of African descent was found beneath the Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) wharf yesterday. According to reports, staffers made the discovery and quickly contacted the police. Kaieteur News was told that the police took some time to arrive at the scene. Undertakers from the Lyken Funeral Home were called to remove the body.
According to police sources, the body was clad in a blue three-quarter pants and a jersey. This publication was further told that it was unclear if the body had any marks of violence since it was badly decomposed. A post mortem is expected to be done next week.
Investigations are ongoing.
