Man shot during altercation
Police were last night investigating the shooting of youth in Callender Street, Albouystown.
The victim, who identified himself as Jamal Mc Neil, 22, of Victory Valley, Wismar, was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation at around 22:15 hrs with a gunshot wound to the pelvic area. The bullet reportedly exited his left buttock.
Kaieteur News understands that the wounded man alleged that he was speaking with a woman when he was shot by one of two men who approached him.
He was taken to the GPHC by a friend and was still being treated in the Accident and Emergency Unit at press time.
