The world’s leading Test batsman, Guyanese Shivnarine Chanderpaul took time off
from his busy schedule last weekend to pay a visit to the Everest Cricket Club Ground where quarter final matches were being played in the 3rd edition of the GT&T 10/10 nationwide knock-out competition.
‘Tiger’ as he is familiarly known, received a rousing welcome while at the venue and not contented with just being around, spun the toss in the feature match between the Trophy Stall Angels and Rising Stars which the former won to book their place in the semi finals set for tomorrow at the same venue.
The organisers took the opportunity to present the West Indies most dependable batsman with a 10/10 gift package.
In female semi final matches tomorrow, Rising Stars X1 will oppose 4R Lionness with Mike’s Wellwoman tackling Trophy Stall Angels.
In the male semi finals clashes, defending champions Wolf’s Warriors comes up against Unstoppable with Rockaway Auto Sales ‘A’ X1 playing Regal X1. Game time is 10:00hrs.
The competition is being run in association with the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sport and the Guyana Softball League.
