The river disaster did occur. In fact there were two and there will be more because boat owners are paying less attention to their vessels. The result is that poorly maintained vessels are being put to sea and the likelihood of even more disasters becomes even more real.
One vessel would have engines that have long outlived their ability to operate at their maximum. The result would be another disaster when the vessel flounders in rough seas. Again the poor rescue capability would lead to more heartache.

A fire of unknown causes would devastate a home that had been recently refurbished. One view is that the fire would be electrical in original.
The family would not have insured the house so the financial impact of the loss would be immeasurable.

It has long been said that the face of crime is getting younger. A group of young men is going to effect a robbery on a family. This robbery is going to end disastrously for both attackers and victims. The young criminals with a modicum of intelligence and a feeling of machismo because of the gun would not hesitate to shoot.
However, the community is going to respond and so will the police. Again youthful machismo would lead to a shootout and to parents exclaiming that their children were accidentally at the wrong place at the wrong time.
