Team Vieira wins Endurance title
– 8 year-old Gianni Carpenter receives special praise
Showing off all the skills that could only be understood as being obtained 
innately, young Matthew Vieira, who clocked the fastest time of the day 40.875 seconds, led his team to the Endurance title when the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) held its Fun Day with Karts on Sunday, at the club’s Headquarters on Albert Street.
Vieira teamed up with his father and former Group 4 champion Mark and Michael Gonsalves to record 104 laps in 1 hour 20 minutes which was enough to relegate the trio of Vishok Persaud, Sachin Puri and Edward Powers, who registered 98 laps, while the combination of Afraz Allie, Rohindra Mahase and Sean Charles could only manage 97 laps.
The winners received a trophy, while Matthew Vieira also got a trophy for recording the fastest lap time.
Gianni Carpenter, who is just 8 years old and who drove the full complement of laps came in for special praise.
