Over 50 entered so far for RCMTC Horserace meet this Sunday

With just a few days away and despite the inclement weather the organizers of the much awaited Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club one day horserace meet are moving ahead with plans for the much anticipated day slated for Sunday February26 at the Clubs facilities Alness Corentyne Berbice.
The event, which was postponed already due to the inclement weather, will effectively be the first for the 2012 Horses Racing season. A whopping $5M in cash, trophies and other incentives are up for grabs in the Nine races. So far over 50 of the country’s top race horses have taken entry for what is expected to be a grand and exciting day of racing.
The RCMTC venue is one of the better facilities in the country with the track being on the faster side. The Venue has a good drainage system and is known to dry quickly and according to the organisers as long as the rain ceases the track will be ready for racing.
Banks DIH Limited is the major sponsor and they has covered the feature event which is for animals classified B and lower over a distance of 1500M with the first prize being $700,000 and the Banks DIH Limited trophy.
The other major sponsors are Digicel, Trophy Stall Bourda market, Delmur Company Limited, Omai Transportation, Mohammed ‘Nankoo’ Shariff of the Shariff Racing Stable, Attorney at Law Poonai and The RCMTC&SF are the major sponsors so far.
The other events are the E&F and lower race for a winning money of $350,000 over 1200M.
The event for 4yrs old Guyana & West Indies Bred horses classified F1 and lower also has a winning purse of $350,000 over 1500M.
The 3yr old Guyana and West Indies Bred race is for a $300,000 first prize over 1400M.
The three year old race for Guyana Bred horses has a winning money of $250,000 over 1200M. The G class race will now be a 1500M race for the pole position money of $200,000.
The H1 and lower competitors will battle for a winning purse of $160,000 now over 1200M.
The I2 race replaces the I3 contest and will have a winning money of $120,000 over 1200M.
There is a J K and L Division 1, 2 and 3 contest will see the winner getting $90,000 over 1200M. Some of the animals expected to be on show are; The Message, Donut Prince, Dubai Duchess, Face the Music, Technology, Night Crescendo, Work Force, Damascus Dream, Momzelle, Miracle Run, Majestic, Settle In Seattle, Prado’s Gold, Come Dance with me, Watch My Shadow, Pegasus Rising, Savion Mona Lisa, Funny Side, Quincy, Lucky Gamble and Sporting Time among others.
