Parmanand Persaud named to replace Baksh as Region Two Chairman
The Region Two administration is awaiting the re-convening of Parliament to appoint a new Chairman of the Regional Democratic Council there.
A replacement for Alli Baksh, the former Chairman, has already been identified.
Seasoned parliamentarian, Parmanand Persaud, will replace Baksh as Region Two’s chairman, sources say.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chairman, Vishnu Samaroo, is performing the duties of the Chairman.
Persaud, who served as a Member of Parliament for the ruling People’s Progressive Party, is also a Justice of the Peace.
Region Two is mainly a rice farming area.
