Young Achievers of Guyana win in Suriname
Guyana’s top volleyball club, Young Achievers returned home from participating
Young Achievers were successful in Suriname.
in an Inter Guiana’s Club Tournament last weekend as champions.
The tournament which was hosted by Lyzecks Volleyball Club of Suriname saw four other clubs participating including Young Achievers (Guyana), Montjoly (Cayenne), Yellowbirds and Yelleco (Suriname).
According to a release the playing format was 20 minutes per game with the team with the most points after the time expired declared the winner. Young Achievers defeated Lyzecks 42- 33, Montjoly 38-30, Yellowbirds 34-33 and tied with Yelleco 31-31. In the best of three final which was played using the 25 points format, Young Achievers defeated Yelleco 25-20, 23-25, 15-6.
Among the outstanding players for the champions was Captain Randy Adams and Christopher Ramsundar.
Also, during the visit, plans were discussed for the tournament to be played in Cayenne in 2012 and Guyana 2013.
