Bank of Baroda is planning to open a branch at Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara.

The India-based entity made the disclosure during a meeting on Monday, last, with President Donald Ramotar at his office.
According to a government statement, Chief Executive, Dhimant Trivedi; Managing Director Kumar Kala and Chief Executive of the Offshore Banking Unit, Mukesh Wason who comprised the visiting delegation, also spoke with the President on ways in which the bank can help in Guyana’s economic development.
Bank of Baroda has been in operation since Guyana gained independence from the British in 1966. Its current location is Avenue of the Republic, Georgetown.
The bank was opened in 1908 in India and maintains a presence in 26 countries. In India alone, the Bank of Baroda operates out of 3500 branches.
