Just after 1:00 am Sunday, a Grove, East Bank Demerara family woke up to find their house had been burglarized.
According to information, the woman and her daughter lived in a ‘one-storey’ two bedroom house and were asleep when the incident occurred.
This publication understands that the woman and a relative, who is spending some time with the family, were watching TV after 11:00pm Saturday. They decided to leave the lights on and went to bed.
When the woman woke up after 4:00am Sunday she discovered that all the louvers at the window were missing and that her phone as well as her relative’s had disappeared. Also missing were a pair of used slippers belonging to her relative along with $600.
A report was made at the Grove police station.
The woman noted that Sunday’s incident wasn’t the first. Earlier this year two similar incidents occurred at their house.
