NBS disburses $4B in loans in 2011-Chairman
The New Building Society Limited (NBS) as of mid-December 2011 has disbursed $4B in loans, Minister of
Chairman of the Board of NBS, Dr. Nanda Gopaul
Labour and Chairman of the Board of NBS, Dr. Nanda Gopaul has said.
This was disclosed at the NBS Christmas celebrations held last Saturday. The financial institution is Guyana’s largest mortgage provider to homeowners.
Dr. Gopaul, said this was the highest number of loans during a year that the organisation has ever recorded. He further stated that given the present state of the market, the organization will have the capacity to disburse $6B in 2012.
Gopaul stressed that NBS remains committed to promoting housing development and the all- round development of the country.
He told the NBS staff that “the housing sector has taken off a lot and this is due to the loans that have been disbursed from NBS.”
He told the NBS staff that the construction of the new building substantiate the growing investment dynamics of the country’s economy.
