Ex-policeman, Colin Fraser, of D’Edward Village, West Bank Berbice, appeared before Magistrate Roby Benn at the Fort Wellington Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday and was placed on $120,000 bail, for unlawfully wounding his estranged paramour.
Fraser, on Friday, October 14, last, allegedly stabbed Zenola Blair, 40, of Rosignol, at the Blairmont Sugar Estate. Both individuals, who were having problems with each other, were employed by the sugar corporation and were working on the same shift.

According to Blair, the accused went up to her around 20:45 hrs that evening and said that “he wanted to talk”. After she refused, he allegedly stabbed her several times in her shoulder and back leaving her severely injured.
Blair said he then slit his own throat and then tried to escape but collapsed on the floor. He was rushed to the Georgetown Hospital Intensive Care Unit where he remained for several days.
Fraser appeared in court on Wednesday with tubes in his nose and appeared to be very sickly. He has to return to court on November 23, when the matter will continue.
Blair, when contacted, said that she is “so scared for my life and my children’s lives. Me ain’t know what that man can do to me.”
According to Blair, Fraser penned his statement earlier in the week, alleging that she slit his throat and that she twisted the chain of events in the matter. She said she will be consulting a lawyer.
