Hundreds thrilled at Annual Gymkhana
The Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary came alive yesterday at the Guyana Police Force’s Annual Gymkhana, where ranks and others displayed their daredevil skills that thrilled a massive crowd.
The Gymkhana which was revived in 2008 has now become a regular feature of entertainment for members of the public.
Hundreds flocked to be a part of the day’s activity which featured a colourful parade by the performers followed by a treat for the public which included a number of events such as breath-taking motorcycle stunts, obedience and scent work by the Police Canine Section, displays by the Police Mounted Branch, silent drills, gymnastics, a majorettes display, tug-o-war and action by sprint teams.
The event gives the Police Force an opportunity to display their skills, which, besides its entertaining feature, project some of the necessary elements in the police fight against crime.
The event also provided an opportunity for closer interaction between the police and the public.

These ranks will surely know how to reach to work on time as they practice this late-for-work routine.
Another act of obedience in the form of attack, being displayed in the Police Canine Section.
The civilians were also in the limelight with their ATV stunts that wooed the crowd.
This policewoman was keeping the adrenaline alive at the event with her intense riding skills.
